Why agent handoffs matter more than model choice
A practical guide to ownership, context boundaries, and the moments where automated work needs a human decision.
NORLA ACADEMY / RESOURCE DETAILS
A practical written learning path for turning one growth-marketing job into a bounded, reviewable agent workflow. Work through opportunity selection, source and decision boundaries, and a small evaluation plan. The central exercise produces a workflow brief and release recommendation using material the learner is authorized to use.
Start with a recurring task that creates a recognizable output: a reviewed campaign brief, a source-linked research summary or an email draft based on an approved offer. Avoid beginning with a broad ambition such as automate growth. A useful first workflow is small enough that an operator can tell whether the output is complete and what decision comes next.
List the required inputs, the owner of each input and the consequences of an incorrect result. Identify where the task currently waits for a decision rather than for mechanical work. Automating a step whose main problem is an unresolved business choice may simply produce more drafts while preserving the original delay.
Practice: Compare three candidate tasks and select one using input availability, reviewability and the consequences of error. Write a one-sentence job definition and a short reason for the choice.
Keep: A selected workflow brief with inputs, output and decision owner.
Practice brief: A small marketing team wants help preparing a weekly campaign brief from an approved export and a product fact sheet. The assistant may identify observations and draft questions, but it cannot publish content, change a budget, or fill missing facts. Build a reviewable operating proposal before considering implementation.
